What is the cost of attendance?
Cost of attendance (COA) includes tuition, fees, room and board, books, and personal expenses. Financial aid packages are calculated based on COA. The "net price" is what you actually pay after grants and scholarships — often much lower than the sticker price.
In-state vs. out-of-state tuition
Public universities charge lower tuition to state residents. Out-of-state students pay significantly more — often 2–4x the in-state rate. Some states have tuition reciprocity agreements that let students from neighboring states pay reduced rates.
