• Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
• Have gained admission to an approved master’s program at a Designated Institution.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an excellent academic record.
• Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience post-degree.
• Demonstrate proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Be under 35 years old at the time of application (age waiver may apply in exceptional cases).
• Be in good health.
• Commit to returning and working in their home country for at least two years after completing the program.
• Not be staff or relatives of ADB employees or ADB-JSP Designated Institutions.
• Not be already enrolled in graduate degree programs or living and working outside their home country.

Application Process

1. Request information and application forms from the chosen partner institution.
2. Complete the required documents, including the ADB-JSP information sheet.
3. Submit the application to the institution.
4. The institution evaluates the application and makes a decision on admission.
5. The institution forwards a shortlist of candidates to the ADB.
6. The ADB reviews submissions and recommends awardees to the Japanese Executive Director.
7. ADB selects and notifies the successful candidates.
8. The institution informs the scholars.

Important Notes:

• Applicants must provide income tax returns or salary certifications, and family income certification.
