Afe Babalola University

Situated in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, is Afe Babalola Institution (ABUAD), a private institution. [1] Afe Babalola, a philanthropist and lawyer, started it in 2009. Six colleges at Afe Babalola University offer academic programs in various areas: postgraduate studies, social and management sciences, law, engineering, medicine, and health sciences. Students who have successfully finished an Advanced Level program or a degree foundation program, or who intend to transfer from another university, may also apply for direct entry admission to the university. The college chooses the level they are admitted to, and it varies.

One of the few universities in Nigeria, Afe Babalola University is renowned for having started academic operations at a permanent campus location. But because the National University Commission demanded that the institution establish a functioning teaching hospital, in October 2014, the school and the Nigerian federal government signed a memorandum of understanding to use the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as its teaching hospital for ten years.

The institution contains five major colleges and operates a cooperative system. The College of Engineering, the College of Sciences, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, the College of Law, and the College of Social and Management Sciences are these. In specific departments, a few colleges offer postgraduate programs.
