The Nigerian Army 89 Regular Recruit Intake (89RRI) recruitment is now open for tradesmen and non-tradesmen. This is an excellent opportunity for Nigerians with secondary school certificates to start a career in the military.

Basic Requirements

Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth (with NIN & BVN)
Medically, physically, and psychologically fit
No criminal record
✔ Must have a valid birth certificate (from NPC, Hospital, or Local Government)
✔ Must present a certificate of state of origin
Minimum height: 1.68m (male) & 1.65m (female)
Age limits:

  • Non-tradesmen: 18 – 22 years
  • Tradesmen: 18 – 26 years (as of June 30, 2025)
    Educational Requirement: At least 4 passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, including English, in no more than two sittings
    Trades applicants must have a Trade Test/City Guild Certificate
    ✔ Must bring warm clothing (cardigan, gloves, blanket) to the screening center

Screening will take place in your state of origin
Electronic gadgets are NOT allowed at the screening center

Swimming skills give an added advantage
Shortlisted candidates will be announced on the Nigerian Army website
