MTN Scholarship Categories

1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

Since 2010, the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) has been awarded to eligible 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

• Scholarship Value: N300,000 per student annually, renewable until graduation (subject to academic performance).
• Eligibility: 300-level students enrolled in Science & Technology disciplines in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

Introduced in 2012, the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) supports visually impaired students enrolled in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

• Scholarship Value: N300,000 per student annually.
• Eligibility: Blind students in 200 or 300 level across all disciplines. (Law students must be in 300 level.)

3. MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship

Launched in 2020, the MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship is awarded to the top 10 UTME scorers as announced by JAMB, regardless of their chosen course or institution (public or private).

• Scholarship Value: N300,000 per student per year, renewable from 100-level until graduation.
• Eligibility: Must be among the top 10 UTME scorers in Nigeria for 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

• Institution: Open to students in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
• Course of Study: Science & Technology disciplines.
• Academic Level: 300-level students or those transitioning from 200 to 300 level.
• CGPA Requirement:
  • Universities & Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Credit).
  • Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND, with admission into HND.
  • Direct Entry: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 from OND, with admission into 300-level at a public university.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

• Institution: Open to students in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
• Course of Study: All disciplines.
• Academic Level: 200 & 300 level (Law students must be in 300 level).
• CGPA Requirement:
  • Universities & Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 2.5.
  • Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 from OND, with admission into HND.

MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship

• Must be among the top 10 UTME scorers as announced by JAMB in 2025.

Scholarship Benefits

Each scholarship recipient will receive N300,000 annually to cover tuition, books, and other academic expenses until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic performance.
