Program Overview
The AfricaCDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship is tailored for employees of active vaccine and biomanufacturing companies across Africa. This two-year program combines online and in-person training in vaccine R&D, pharmaceutical sciences, and biotechnology, while allowing participants to remain employed.
Fellows will gain advanced industry knowledge in a chosen specialization, along with leadership, project management, and business skills aligned with Africa CDC’s Vaccine R&D and Manufacturing Competency Framework.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be citizens of an African Union member country with active biomanufacturing capacity
- Hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields
- Be currently employed at a biomanufacturing company
- Possess a valid passport
- Be willing to travel for short-term training
- Submit a letter of support and approved leave of absence from their employer
