Applications are now open for the 2025 CLARITY-Africa PhD Scholarship, offering full funding to students interested in research on climate change and public health. Successful candidates will study at either the University of Ghana or the AIMS Research and Innovation Centre (AIMS RIC) in Rwanda.
About CLARITY-Africa
CLARITY-Africa is a research initiative examining how climate change impacts urban life across Africa, focusing on heatwaves, floods, and vulnerable communities. The project operates in Accra, Tamale, Kigali, and Musanze, in collaboration with Imperial College London and leading African universities.
Scholarship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of any African country
- Hold a Master’s degree in a related field
- Have a strong interest in climate change and public health research
- Demonstrate experience with research tools and data analysis
- Provide evidence of past academic work and research potential
- Be willing to focus their PhD on CLARITY-Africa-related topics
- Current Year 1 PhD students at the University of Ghana may also apply
