The Open Door scholarship is a highly competitive fully funded scholarship opportunity that allows international students from all over the world to study at top Russian universities. Application is open to prospective undergraduates, masters, doctoral and postdoctoral students.
The 2025 batch which has already kicked off application will be the eighth year of the competition, eight years giving people around the world the opportunity to fulfill their academic dreams. Winners get to enroll in any chosen bachelor’s, masters or postgraduate program in any university of their choice in Russia.
The route for postgraduates and postdoctoral students is quite not the same with undergraduates. For postgraduate’s application, the stages are:
- The portfolio stage. Here applicants get to show off their rich portfolio in order to compete for a slot.
- The problem solving challenge
- Selection of prospective research supervisors for your program, followed by an interview.
Eligibility
Who can apply for the 2025 Open Door scholarship and what are some of the requirements? Well, to be qualified for this scholarship opportunity, here are a couple criteria intended applicants must meet.
- Applicants must agree to the processing or personal data.
- Applicants must note that the only official and welcome languages in the application of the Olympiad (as the scholarship is being called in recent years) are English and Russian.
- Winners who have a Bachelor’s degree are eligible to be admitted to a master’s degree program run by Russian universities in the field corresponding to the profile of the Olympiad within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation for Foreign Citizens and stateless persons.
Application Guidelines
- Online registration in the Olympiad registration system from September 5th to November 20th 2024 (Undergraduates and postgraduates) 10th December, 2024 for Postdoctoral students.
- Applicants must understand that by registering you agree to processing of personal data according to the legislation of the Russian Federation.
- Applicants can access their information, the structure of the portfolio and evaluation criteria after registration. They will also be given access to a demo version of the tasks of the next stage of the application.
