The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter is thrilled to announce an Essay Competition focused on “The Distressed Economy & Nation Building: The Role of Young People.” This competition is an excellent platform for young Nigerians to share their insights, propose solutions, and have a voice in shaping the nation’s future.
Theme and Objectives
The theme for this year’s competition is “The Distressed Economy & Nation Building: The Role of Young People.” Participants are invited to explore how Nigerian youth can contribute to economic recovery and national development. This competition not only promotes critical thinking but also encourages youth to engage actively in nation-building.
Prizes for Winning Essays
Three outstanding essays will receive cash prizes as follows:
- 1st Prize: ₦80,000
- 2nd Prize: ₦50,000
- 3rd Prize: ₦30,000
These prizes reward participants who present innovative and compelling ideas on how youth can drive positive change in Nigeria.
Entry Guidelines and Requirements
To participate, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Essay Length: Minimum of 1,000 words.
- Judging Criteria: Essays will be evaluated based on content, organization, expression, and accuracy.
- Originality: Submissions must be original. Plagiarism or AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.
- Submission: Send your essay to edu@nycnogun.ng within the specified timeframe.
The top five participants will be notified on October 23rd, 2024 and are expected to submit their final essays by November 1st, 2024.
