Eligibility for UNIBEN Direct Entry Screening

Before applying, ensure that you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • JAMB Registration: Candidates must have registered for the 2024/2025 JAMB Direct Entry.
  • UNIBEN as First Choice: The University of Benin must be your first-choice institution.
  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of five credit passes in GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, or their equivalents, including English Language and, if applicable, Mathematics. The credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings.

Additionally, having a valid email address is essential for receiving updates throughout the application process.

How to Apply for UNIBEN Direct Entry Screening

Follow these steps to complete your UNIBEN Direct Entry application:

  1. Get a Valid Email Account: Ensure that you have a working email address for communication.
  2. Visit the UNIBEN Student Portal: Go to the official UNIBEN website and navigate to the WAEUP Student Portal.
  3. Register: Click on “Register for application” at the top left of the displayed page.
  4. Input Personal Information: Enter your surname and JAMB Registration Number as they appear on your JAMB slip. Your ID and password will be generated and displayed.
  5. Login: Use the displayed ID and password to log into the WAEUP KOFA Student Portal.
  6. Initiate Application: Click on ‘Application record’ and provide the required information.
  7. Upload Passport Photograph: Upload a recent, clear 1×1 colour passport photograph with a red background (JPEG format). Failure to upload the correct image format may result in disqualification.
  8. Pay the Application Fee: Select “Add online payment ticket” and click on “Pay Via Remita.” The application fee is N2,000, payable through Remita.
  9. Preview and Submit: Carefully review your details and submit the application. No changes can be made after submission.

Screening Details

The Direct Entry Screening Exercise will take place from Monday, 7th October 2024 to Saturday, 12th October 2024 at the Ugbowo Campus. Candidates are required to arrive at least one hour before their scheduled screening time.

The screening will be conducted using a Computer-Based Test (CBT), so it’s important to familiarize yourself with the system beforehand.

On the screening day, candidates must bring the following:

  • Acknowledgement Slip: Print this slip after completing your registration.
  • Screening Invitation Slip: This will contain your screening schedule, including the date, time, and venue.

Note: Mobile phones and calculators are strictly prohibited during the screening exercise.

The application portal will close at midnight on 5th October 2024. Candidates who fail to complete their application or make payments before this deadline will not be screened.
