The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced its 55th Convocation Ceremonies for the 2023/2024 graduating class.

Event Timeline

• Pre-Convocation Press Conference: Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
• Main Ceremonies Begin: Monday, January 13, 2025.

Payments and Academic Outfit for Graduating Students

Payment Details

• Convocation fees are included in the school fees.
• Students who are yet to pay must use the amount displayed on their student portal.

Academic Outfit Fees

Graduating students can hire or purchase academic gowns:

• First Degree: ₦40,000.00 (purchase), ₦15,000.00 (hire).
• Master’s, PGD, MPhil: ₦40,000.00 (purchase), ₦15,000.00 (hire).
• Doctorate Degree: ₦65,000.00 (purchase only).

Payment Procedure

1. Generate payment advice from the student portal.
2. Use the Remita platform (RRR) to make payment.
   • Account Name: University of Lagos TSA.

Important Dates:

• Payment Start Date: December 12, 2024.
• Payment Deadline: December 31, 2024.
• Gown Collection Begins: December 30, 2024.

Collection of Academic Outfit and Order of Proceedings

Graduating students must collect their gowns and Order of Proceedings from designated centres:

• College of Medicine
• School of Postgraduate Studies
• Distance Learning Institute
• University of Lagos Business School

Required: Valid online payment receipt.

Submission of Payment Receipts

Graduating students must forward payment receipts to the appropriate faculty email addresses:

• Distance Learning Institute: dlirecords@unilag.edu.ng
• ULBS: ulbs@unilag.edu.ng
• Postgraduate Studies: recordspgs@unilag.edu.ng
• Other Faculties: Refer to specific faculty email addresses listed above.

Invitation Cards and Attendance

• E-Invitation Cards: Graduates must download and print from their email accounts.
• Registration: A link will be sent to graduates by December 30, 2024.
  • Print the Access Code to gain entry to the venue.

Return of Academic Outfit

• All hired gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremonies.
• Failure to return by February 3, 2025, incurs a fine of ₦40,000.00.

Certificate Collection

• Certificates will be available immediately after the ceremonies.
• Late Collection Fees: ₦10,000.00 for the first year, ₦5,000.00 for each additional year.

Alumni Registration Fees

• First Degree: ₦5,000.00
• Postgraduate: ₦7,500.00
