The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has commenced the registration and screening process for newly admitted students for the 2024/2025 academic session. This guide provides a detailed step-by-step procedure to ensure a smooth registration process.

The UNILAG Screening and Registration Exercise has been extended by one week, from Monday, 3rd February to Friday, 7th February 2025. The exercise will take place at Jelili Adebisi Omotola Halls A and B. All freshers who have not yet completed their screening are encouraged to do so before the deadline.
UNILAG Registration & Screening Procedure
The registration and screening process for UTME and Direct Entry candidates will be conducted in two phases:
- Phase 1: Monday, 2nd December 2024 – Friday, 20th December 2024
- Phase 2: Monday, 6th January 2025 – Friday, 31st January 2025
All candidates must follow the outlined procedures to complete their registration successfully.
Step 1: Booking a Registration Appointment
Candidates must schedule an appointment before proceeding with registration.
- Visit the UNILAG Student Portal.
- Log in using your JAMB Number or Application Number as your username and your surname in lowercase as your password.
- Change the default password upon login.
- Click on “Appointment” in the menu bar.
- Select “New Appointment” and choose your faculty.
- Pick a date and session for the appointment.
- Click “Schedule Appointment” and print the booking slip.
- Present the appointment slip at the registration venue.
Step 2: Uploading Required Documents
Before screening, candidates must upload the necessary documents online.
- Log in to the UNILAG Student Portal.
- Fill out the bio-data form and print the screening form.
- Upload scanned copies of the following original documents:
- JAMB Admission Letter
- O’Level Result
- Secondary School Testimonial
- Previous Degree Certificate (Direct Entry candidates only)
- Birth Certificate
- Letter of Reference addressed to the Registrar, UNILAG
- State of Origin Certificate
Step 3: Screening Process
Candidates must attend the screening exercise as scheduled, bringing the following documents:
- Two copies of the Screening Form
- UNILAG Online Application Form (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB Acknowledgment Slip (Direct Entry only)
- JAMB Admission Letter
- UTME Result Slip (not applicable for Direct Entry)
- Post-UTME Result Slip
- JUPEB, A-Level, OND, HND, or BSc Result Slip (Direct Entry only)
- Original O’Level Result Certificate (WAEC or NECO; online printouts not accepted)
- Letter of Reference on official letterhead with NBA seal (for lawyers)
- Birth Certificate
- Secondary School Testimonial
- State of Origin Certificate (same as used for JAMB registration)
- Twelve passport photographs with full names written on the back
Candidates must present the original copies of all credentials for verification.
Step 4: Payment of Fees
After completing the screening, candidates must generate a payment advice online (available 24 hours later). Payments can be made at any bank using the generated advice.
Step 5: Faculty and Departmental Registration
After fee payment, candidates must proceed to their respective faculties and departments to complete further registration processes.
Important Notices
- Impersonation during the registration process will result in forfeiture of admission and possible legal action.
- Drug tests are mandatory for all newly admitted students. Any student who tests positive or fails to take the test will have their admission withdrawn.
- Dates for matriculation and orientation will be announced by the university.
