Sokoto State University Admission Requirements

O’Level Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

UTME Requirements

  • Applicants must sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain a competitive score.
  • The UTME subjects must include English (compulsory) and three other relevant subjects as outlined in the JAMB Brochure.

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

  • Candidates must have a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution with at least a Merit Grade.

How to Apply for Sokoto State University Admission

  1. Visit the SSU Admission Portal.
  2. Click on Post UTME/DE Screening Application.
  3. Create an account using your JAMB Registration Number, email, and phone number.
  4. Log in and complete the application form with your personal and academic details.
  5. Generate a payment invoice with a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code.
  6. Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee via:
    • Online Payment: Debit/credit card payment on the portal.
    • Bank Payment: Visit an authorized bank with the RRR code.
  7. Upload scanned copies of:
    • JAMB result slip
    • O’Level results (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB)
    • Passport photograph
    • Direct Entry certificate (if applicable)
  8. Review your details for accuracy.
  9. Submit the application and print the acknowledgment slip.
