Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance to N77,000, effective February 2025. This is a significant rise from the previous N33,000 and is part of the 2025 Federal Government budget.
Ahmed made the announcement on Thursday, January 30, 2025, while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina. He assured that although January has ended, the new allowance will be implemented once the budget is approved.
He also encouraged corps members to remain dedicated and committed throughout their service in appreciation of the government’s support. Additionally, he reaffirmed that no corps members will be posted to communities with security risks.
This development is expected to improve the welfare of corps members across Nigeria, ensuring better financial stability during their service year.
