The Nigerian Army, under the Chief of Army Staff Special Scholarship Scheme, has awarded a scholarship grant to Miss Christianah Oyindamola Obadare, a student of the Faculty of Education at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), Osun State.
Scholarship Presentation Ceremony
The official ceremony took place on Tuesday, 10th December 2024, at the 2 Division Headquarters of the Nigerian Army in Ojoo, Ibadan. The event was graced by Major General O.O. Onubogu, the General Officer Commanding, who represented the Chief of Army Staff (COAS). Attendees included UNILESA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, Ph.D., FCA, key university officials, the scholarship recipient, and her family.
Purpose of the Scholarship
Major General Onubogu highlighted the initiative as a part of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to enhancing education in Nigeria. This effort aligns with the Federal Government’s education funding initiatives like NELFUND. The scholarship will be disbursed annually, contingent on Miss Obadare’s consistent academic excellence throughout her studies.
