Kwara State University (KWASU) has received the green light from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence 10 new academic programmes, starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.
Approved Programmes
The newly approved programmes include:
- B.Sc. Estate Management
- B.Sc. Geography
- B.Sc. Urban and Regional Planning
- B.Eng. Mining Engineering
- B.Sc. Marketing
- B.Sc. Sociology
- B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies
- B.Sc. Physiology
- B.Sc. Human Anatomy
- B.Sc. Cyber Security
Approval Details
- The approval, dated 10th December 2024, was conveyed in a letter signed by Abubakar M. Girei, the Acting Director of Academic Planning.
- The programmes will run in full-time mode, with a focus on ensuring adequate resources for their development.
Vice-Chancellor’s Response
Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, expressed satisfaction with the development. He described it as a significant step toward advancing the university’s mission to produce skilled graduates.
With the addition of these programmes, KWASU now offers a total of 80 undergraduate programmes, reinforcing its position as a leading academic institution.
Professor Jimoh commended the university staff for their contributions in securing this approval and reiterated the institution’s dedication to societal impact through quality education.
