Admission Requirements
To gain admission into JABU, candidates must meet the following requirements:
O’Level Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) credit passes in WASSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
- The five credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings.
UTME Candidates
- Candidates must have chosen JABU as their preferred institution in JAMB or applied for a change of institution.
- Completion of the JABU application form and participation in the screening process.
Awaiting Results
- Candidates awaiting results can apply, provided their results will be available before September of the admission year.
Faculty-Specific Admission Requirements
College of Agricultural & Natural Sciences
- Five (5) O’Level credits, including English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and Economics.
- Physics is not mandatory for Agricultural Science programs.
College of Environmental Sciences
- Architecture, Building, and Quantity Surveying: Five (5) credits, including English, Mathematics, Physics, and two other subjects from Chemistry, Geography, Fine Art, Economics, or Biology.
- Estate Management: Five (5) credits, including English, Mathematics, and Economics.
- Urban and Regional Planning: Five (5) credits, including English, Mathematics, Geography, and two additional subjects.
College of Health Sciences
- Biochemistry & Medical Laboratory Science: Five (5) credits, including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
- Microbiology: Accepts Agricultural Science in place of Biology.
- Physics Electronics: Requires English, Mathematics, and Physics, plus one other science subject.
College of Humanities & Social Sciences
- General Humanities Programs: Five (5) credits, including English and four other Arts or Social Science subjects.
- English Language: Must include Literature-in-English.
- History and International Studies: Requires Government or History among the five required credits.
- Mass Communication: Five (5) credits, including English and Literature-in-English, with at least a pass in Mathematics.
College of Law
- Law (LL.B.): Requires five (5) relevant credits, including English.
- Direct Entry candidates with A’Level passes, OND, NCE, or a diploma from a recognized institution can also apply.
College of Management Sciences
- Accounting, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, and Insurance: Five (5) credits, including English, Mathematics, and Economics.
- Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management: Five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics.
