The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it generated a revenue of ₦22.9 billion in 2024, remitting over ₦6 billion to the federal government as part of its operating surplus. The announcement was made in JAMB’s bulletin released on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Financial Breakdown
JAMB’s revenue was primarily generated through the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The board incurred ₦18.2 billion in expenses, which covered the following:
- Conducting the UTME
- Service provider payments
- Operational costs
- Staff claims amounting to ₦2.1 billion
Additionally, the board highlighted that the ₦6 billion remittance, coupled with the ₦1,500 reduction in UTME form fees, brought its total contribution to ₦9 billion for the year.

Under the leadership of Professor Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB has consistently demonstrated its commitment to transparency and accountability. Over the past seven years, the board has contributed more than ₦50 billion in operating surpluses to the national treasury.
