What is the Pass Mark for UNILAG JUPEB Entrance Exam?

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) entrance exam is a gateway for students seeking direct entry admission into 200-level undergraduate programs. To succeed in the exam, it’s crucial to know the pass mark and grading system.

While there is no officially declared “cut-off” mark for the entrance exam, the minimum pass mark for JUPEB is typically set at 40%, which corresponds to a letter grade of E (Pass) according to the JUPEB grading system.

UNILAG JUPEB Grading System

Here’s a breakdown of the JUPEB grading system:

Letter GradeMark RangeInterpretation
A70 to 100Excellent
B60 to 69Very Good
C50 to 59Good
D45 to 49Merit
E40 to 44Pass
F0 to 39Fail

Understanding the Pass Mark:

  • Pass Mark (40% – Grade E): If you score 40% to 44%, you will pass the JUPEB entrance exam, but this may not guarantee admission depending on the competition and course requirements.
  • Merit and Above: For highly competitive courses, a score in the Merit (D) or Good (C) range, or even higher, may be required for admission.

Why the Pass Mark Matters:

The higher your score in the JUPEB exam, the better your chances of securing admission into your preferred course at UNILAG. Each course may have its own specific cut-off, so aim to score well above the minimum pass mark.

Ensure you are fully prepared for the screening exercise and good luck to all the newly admitted UNILAG JUPEB students!
