Role of the Registrar

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer, responsible for overseeing daily university operations and promoting a structured workforce. They also serve as the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation.

Qualifications and Requirements for Registrar

  • A minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant field from a recognized university.
  • A higher degree is preferred.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body.
  • At least 15 years of experience in university administration, with 3 years as a Deputy Registrar or Deputy Director.
  • Must be mentally and physically fit, with strong leadership qualities.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Age limit: 60 years.

Librarian Requirements

  • For Librarians: A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
  • For Assistant Librarians: A BLD/BLIS, B.A, B.Sc, or LLB degree.
  • Candidates should be ICT compliant.

Application Process

  • Librarian applications should be sent to librarian@gouni.edu.ng within two weeks.
  • Other applications should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar, Godfrey Okoye University, Thinker’s Corner Campus 1, Enugu. Applicants must submit 20 copies of a detailed Curriculum Vitae within two weeks.

Conditions of Service

  • The Registrar position is a five-year appointment, subject to extension.
  • Other positions are for three years, subject to renewal.
  • Terms of service are based on university policies and the decisions of the Governing Council.
