Charles’s fascination with history began in his childhood. He described his academic journey as fulfilling:


“Studying history felt like a dream come true. I was eager to learn everything about man—from the cradle of civilization to the globalization of world power.


Despite his passion, Charles faced numerous obstacles:

After finishing secondary school in 2013 at age 16, he faced multiple admission rejections over four years.

His parents initially wanted him to study law, but even after meeting cut-off marks at the University of Calabar, he was denied admission.

Financial struggles compounded his challenges, but he remained determined, writing JAMB exams annually until gaining admission in 2017.

Achievements and Advice

Charles’s dedication paid off, culminating in First-Class Honors from Ritman University. During his NYSC camp, he won a ₦250,000 business plan competition, further highlighting his resourcefulness and drive.

Charles advises students to pursue their passions:

“Find what you love, regardless of your academic discipline, and work towards it. This makes the academic journey much easier, even up to the university level and beyond.”
