Caleb University’s Law programme has achieved a significant milestone with accreditation from the Council of Legal Education (CLE). This recognition includes an increase in the programme’s admission quota from 50 to 110 students, starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.
Details of the Accreditation
The CLE conveyed its decision through a letter signed by Ms. A. O. Osho, the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration. This approval followed the CLE Accreditation Panel’s thorough assessment during their visit to Caleb University’s College of Law, located at the City Campus, Magodo, on 10 and 11 October 2024.
Statement from Caleb University
Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, the Vice Chancellor, expressed satisfaction with the accreditation, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of young legal minds, seasoned scholars, and Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs). He also noted the strategic partnership with the Lagos State Judiciary, which has been instrumental in strengthening the Law programme.
Impact of the Quota Increase
The CLE attributed the increased admission quota to Caleb University’s sustained investments in infrastructure, adherence to regulatory standards, and commitment to quality legal education. This development underscores the institution’s discipline and its dedication to producing competent legal professionals.
Opportunities for Aspiring Students
With the accreditation and expanded admission capacity, aspiring law students now have greater opportunities to enroll in Caleb University’s reputable Law programme. The initiative is expected to attract more students while upholding its reputation for academic excellence.
This milestone reinforces Caleb University’s growing influence in shaping the future of legal education in Nigeria.
