Eligibility for Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Direct Entry Screening

To be eligible for the BUK Direct Entry screening, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • JAMB Direct Entry Registration: You must have applied through JAMB and chosen BUK as your first choice.
  • Required Qualifications: You must possess one of the following qualifications:
    • National Diploma (ND): Accepted in all faculties, except MBBS and Dentistry, with a minimum of Upper Credit.
    • Higher National Diploma (HND): Accepted in all faculties, except MBBS, Dentistry, and Allied Health Sciences, with a minimum of Lower Credit.
    • Ordinary Diploma (OD): Accepted only in the Faculty of Law, with a minimum of Upper Credit.
    • National Certificate in Education (NCE): Accepted in Faculties of Arts & Islamic Studies, Education, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Agriculture. Requires a minimum of 9 points for Life and Physical Sciences, and Agriculture; 10 points for Arts and Humanities.
    • IJMB/GCE “A” Level: Accepted in all faculties except Education (except Library & Information Science). Requires a minimum of 9 points for Life and Physical Sciences, and Agriculture; 10 points for Arts and Humanities, and 12 points for Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

O’ Level Requirements for Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Direct Entry

All national “O” Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, NBAIS) are accepted, except:

  • NBAIS: Only accepted for B.A. Arabic, B.A. Islamic Studies, and B.A. Sharia.
  • NABTEB: Not accepted for College of Health Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, and Allied Health Sciences.

Step-by-Step Registration for BUK Direct Entry Screening

Here’s how to complete your registration:

Step 1: Login

  • Visit the official BUK website and click on 2024 DE ONLINE SCREENING EXERCISE.

Step 2: Profile Update

  • Log in using your JAMB DE Registration Number, State, and Gender.
  • Fill out the required details, noting that your JAMB-uploaded photograph will be used as your official ID at Bayero University.

Step 3: Generate Payment Invoice

  • Generate your Personalised Payment Invoice (PPI), which includes a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
  • The screening fee is ₦2,000.

Step 4: Make Payment

  • Pay online using a Credit/Debit card or via Internet banking. Alternatively, print the invoice and pay at any commercial bank nationwide.
  • After payment, print your acknowledgment slip for future reference.

  • Ensure your O’ Level results are uploaded to JAMB CAPS as only candidates with uploaded results will be considered for admission.
