Ahman Pategi University (APU) has achieved a major milestone as it secures a permanent licence from the National Universities Commission (NUC), cementing its position as a fully operational private university in Nigeria.
Initially granted a provisional licence on 8th April 2021 by the Federal Government through the NUC, APU has now earned this permanent status following a comprehensive resource verification exercise completed in June 2024. This licence is a testament to APU’s commitment to developing robust infrastructure, strengthening faculty, and advancing research—factors that solidify its standing in Nigeria’s private tertiary education sector.
The certificate of the permanent licence was received on 30th October 2024 in Abuja by Dr. Amina Ahman Pategi on behalf of APU’s late founder, Hon. Dr. Aliyu Bahago Ahman Pategi. Dr. Pategi expressed her gratitude to the NUC, viewing the licence as a recognition of APU’s dedication to high-quality education and its mission to develop skilled individuals who contribute to national progress.
With its new status, APU can now expand its academic programs, foster industry partnerships, and pursue enhanced research collaborations, further strengthening its role as a center of academic excellence in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
