The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) invites applications for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. These include Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s Degrees, and Doctorate Degrees across various disciplines.

Entry Requirements

General Qualifications

• Five credits in WASC, GCE, NECO, or NABTEB, including English Language, in not more than two sittings.

• Applicants must meet the entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in their chosen fields.

• A degree from UNN or other recognized universities is mandatory.

Specific Requirements

Postgraduate Diplomas

• Bachelor’s Degree holders with at least Third Class Honours and a minimum GPA of 1.9 (5-point scale).

• HND holders with a minimum GPA of 2.50 (5-point scale).

• Additional qualifications or departmental tests may apply for certain programmes.

Master’s Degree Programmes

• Bachelor’s Degree holders with at least Second Class Honours and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (5-point scale).

• Postgraduate Diploma holders with a minimum GPA of 3.5 (5-point scale).

• Relevant work experience may be required for some fields.

Doctorate (Ph.D.) Programmes

• Master’s Degree holders with a minimum GPA of 3.5 (5-point scale).

• Preference for applicants with research-focused Master’s Degrees.

Programme Duration

• Postgraduate Diploma (Full-Time): Minimum of 2 semesters.

• Master’s Degree (Full-Time): Minimum of 3 semesters.

• Doctorate Degree (Full-Time): Minimum of 6 semesters.

• Part-time durations are longer for all programmes.

Application Procedure

1. Visit the UNN Portal to generate an invoice for the application fee of ₦26,700 via Remita.
2. Complete payment online or at any bank.
3. Fill the online application form and upload required documents in JPEG format.
4. Provide valid email addresses for your referees.

Submission of Transcripts

• Request your transcripts to be sent directly to:
  • The Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

• Deadline for transcript submission: 1 August 2025.

Additional Notes

• Attach your NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate.

• Certificates labeled “To Whom It May Concern” will not be accepted.
