Federal University Otuoke (FUOTUOKE) invites applications for its postgraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session. The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) in Bayelsa State has detailed the admission process, requirements, and deadlines for prospective candidates.

Available Postgraduate Programmes

FUOTUOKE offers programmes across different levels:

• Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
• Master’s Degree (M.Sc./M.A./M.Ed.)
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics.
• A bachelor’s degree (minimum third-class) in a relevant field.
• HND holders with upper credit in related disciplines.
• Recognised professional qualifications may also be accepted.

Master’s Degree

• A bachelor’s degree with at least second-class lower division.
• Relevant PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.5.

Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

• A bachelor’s and master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

• A master’s degree with a research thesis and a minimum CGPA of 3.5.
• Must meet O’Level requirements with five credits in relevant subjects.

Programme Duration

• PGD: Two semesters.
• Master’s: Three semesters.
• M.Phil.: Two semesters.
• Ph.D.: Six semesters.
• Professional programmes: 24 months.

How to Apply

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit the FUOTUOKE eCampus platform.
2. Select “APPLICATIONS” and choose “POST-GRADUATE”.
3. Click “BUY PIN” to purchase the application PIN.
4. Enter your name, email, and phone number, then proceed with payment through Remita.
5. After payment, the PIN will appear on the screen and will also be sent to your email.
6. Use the PIN to access the application form.
7. Fill out the form accurately and upload the required documents.
8. Submit your application and print the summary page.

Required Documents for Upload

• Recent passport photograph.
• O’Level results.
• Birth certificate or age declaration.
• Local Government Area (LGA) identification letter.
• First degree certificate.
• Master’s degree certificate (if applicable).

Documents for Submission

Submit duplicate copies of the summary page and the following to the School of Postgraduate Studies:

• Degree certificates.
• NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
• O’Level certificates.
• Birth certificate or age declaration.
• LGA identification letter.
• Research proposal (3 pages for master’s, 5 pages for Ph.D.).

Transcripts

Transcripts must be sent directly from the applicant’s university to:

School of Postgraduate Studies,
Federal University, Otuoke,
Bayelsa State.

• Track your application progress on the FUOTUOKE portal.
• Updates will be sent via email.
• Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
• Applications without transcripts will not be processed.
