Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the availability of Inter-University and Inter-Departmental Transfer forms for the 2024/2025 academic session. This allows eligible students to either change their degree programmes within ABSU or transfer from another recognized institution. Below are the requirements and steps to apply.
Eligibility for Change of Programme (Inter-Departmental Transfer)
- The student must have completed at least one academic session at ABSU.
- The applicant must meet the minimum entry requirements for the new programme.
- If changing due to academic challenges, a lower CGPA may be accepted for a less demanding programme.
- A degree change is only allowed once during the undergraduate programme.
Eligibility for Inter-University Transfer
- The applicant must be transferring from a university recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) or the Federal Ministry of Education.
- A transcript of academic records from the first and second semesters must be submitted.
- The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 3.50 and must be certified by the Registrar of the student’s current institution.
Application Process
- Submit a formal application to the Vice-Chancellor through the Dean and Head of Department.
- Pay the prescribed transfer fees before your application is processed.
- Approved students will receive official transfer letters endorsed by the Registrar.
