Liga MX is Mexico's top professional soccer league, established in 1943. Today, it is home to 18 teams, with each season culminating in qualification for the CONCACAF Champions League. The most successful club in the league's history is Club América.
Liga MX Logo History
The league’s logo has undergone various changes, reflecting different eras and sponsors:
1991 – 2012
The Mexican Primera División logo used from 1991 featured a bold and colorful design. It was inspired by the Mexican flag, with a vertical rectangle split into green and red halves. In the center, a white football player figure was depicted with a soccer ball, dividing the two halves. The red portion featured "1a div" in white, symbolizing the top tier of Mexican soccer.
2013 – Present
The current Liga MX logo, introduced in 2013, has a modern and dynamic design. The central focus is a large letter “X,” formed by two opposite ticks—one red and one green—representing the energy and movement of soccer. Surrounding the “X” are metallic ellipsoids in grey, which add depth and a 3D effect. Below this emblem, the wordmark “LIGA MX” appears in lime green and red, rendered in a clean, all-caps sans-serif font.
This vibrant and energetic design reflects the league's importance in Mexican culture and the excitement of the game.
