The Huntsville Havoc ice hockey team, established in 2004, has built a strong reputation within the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). The team's name and logo reflect the fierce spirit of the sport, with a fearsome bear as its mascot. The bear perfectly aligns with the "Havoc" theme, symbolizing strength and aggression.
The team's history includes significant achievements such as winning the President's Cup in the 2009-2010 and 2017-2018 seasons, solidifying their place in SPHL history. With a roster full of skilled players and a passionate fan base, the Havoc continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the league.
Logo History:
- 2004 – 2017: The original Huntsville Havoc logo, introduced in 2004, featured a cartoonish bear in a growling pose, its upper torso visible, holding a hockey stick. The bear's claws were exposed, emphasizing its menacing look. The logo included the team name, with "Huntsville" at the top and "Havoc" at the bottom, set against a white circle with a black border. The red lettering was outlined in white, with claw marks across the letters, reinforcing the wild and aggressive nature of the team.
- 2017 – Today: In 2017, the logo underwent a simplification. The bear's head was now placed inside a circle, without the hockey stick. The logo retained the strong black and white contrast, with the team name displayed in a custom all-caps font. The updated design, outlined in silver, offers a more streamlined and modern look while maintaining the original essence of the team's identity.
