The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) is a premier junior ice hockey league that features players aged 16 to 20. It consists of three main leagues: the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Western Hockey League (WHL), and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). These leagues are recognized as the highest level of youth hockey, not only in Canada but globally. At the conclusion of each season, the league champions and the host team compete for the prestigious Memorial Cup, the ultimate prize in North American junior hockey.

The CHL was established in 1975 as the Canadian Major Junior Hockey League, uniting top junior teams from across Canada. The league's primary goal was to provide young athletes with a professional environment where they receive all necessary support, including uniforms, accommodation, meals, and other essentials.

The logo history of the CHL showcases the evolution of its visual identity over time.

The first CHL logo, used between 1971 and 1985, was geometric and rich in symbolism. At the center of the emblem was the red maple leaf, a national symbol of Canada, with a “C” in the middle, representing “Canadian.” The “AHA” initials were placed underneath, and a hockey stick in the background emphasized the league's focus on the sport. A thin black ring surrounded the logo, symbolizing the unity of all the teams within the league.

From 1986 to 1995, the CHL logo underwent a redesign, with the abbreviation “CHL” prominently displayed in red. The letters were formed by stacked red bars, creating a visually dynamic effect. A black puck and maple leaf were placed together to represent Canada’s national identity and the sport of hockey.

The current CHL logo, introduced in 1996, is more complex and dynamic. The dark blue “CHL” lettering remains central, with a white silhouette of a player holding a hockey stick placed to the right of the text. The player is superimposed over a red maple leaf, representing the league's Canadian roots. A black puck is shown in mid-flight behind the lettering, with a tail trailing behind it to symbolize motion and energy. This modern emblem captures the spirit of hockey and the CHL's rich history in the sport.
