Rivers State University (RSU), formerly known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), is a public university located in the Diobu (Mile III) area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Southern Nigeria. Established in October 1980, RSU evolved from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology, which was founded in 1972. It is the first technological university in Nigeria and the first state-owned university in the Niger Delta region.
