Osun State University (UNIOSUN) was established in December 2006 by the Osun State Government, following the approval of the University Establishment Law by the State House of Assembly. It was officially recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as the 30th State University in Nigeria and the 80th university overall. The university was founded under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Mission and Vision

UNIOSUN’s mission is to produce well-rounded, highly qualified, and globally competitive graduates who will drive the rapid and sustainable socioeconomic development of Osun State and Nigeria. It aims to integrate information and communication technologies (ICTs) into its teaching, learning, and research activities, positioning itself as a forward-thinking traditional university with a multi-campus structure.
