Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil: A Premier State-Owned University in Kano

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), located in Wudil, Kano State, Nigeria, is a prestigious state-owned university formerly known as Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST). Established in 2001, ADUST has since grown to become one of Nigeria’s leading institutions for science and technology education. It became a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities in the same year it began operations.

The university was initially known as Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil but was renamed in 2022 by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in honor of renowned businessman Aliko Dangote. ADUST is ranked 123rd on the list of Nigeria’s Best Universities, reflecting its continuous growth and contribution to Nigeria’s education sector.

History and Leadership

The idea for the university was proposed during the first term of Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who was then Governor of Kano State. Since its establishment, ADUST has made significant strides in providing quality education in science, technology, and engineering.
