Microbiology is the branch of science that deals with the study of microorganisms (fungi, bacteria, viruses, protozoa, algae, and other diverse groups of organisms) that are generally minute and simple in structure. Students of microbiology in their undergraduate years are trained in knowledge of virology, bacteriology, mycology, immunology, and parasitology.

It is a four-year programme to become a Microbiologist.

  5. Pharmaceutical Microbiologist: works in drug production and pharmaceutical companies to ensure sterility and purity of drugs, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical products
  6. Microbial Fermentation Specialist: Optimize microbial growth conditions for industrial production of enzymes, chemicals, fuels, etc.
