Kaduna State University (KASU) is now accepting applications for its Postgraduate programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. Both Nigerian and international applicants are invited to apply for a wide range of Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, MPhil/PhD, and Doctorate programmes.

KASU Postgraduate Admission Requirements

1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

Candidates must have:

• O’Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.
• Bachelor’s Degree: A degree not lower than Third Class from a recognized university.
• HND Holders: A minimum of Lower Credit in a related field.
• Exclusions: Candidates with a pass in their degree, HND, or equivalent qualifications are not eligible.

2. Professional Master’s Programmes

Candidates must meet the following:

• O’Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree: A First Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division).
• Third Class/HND with PGD: Third Class or HND holders with a Postgraduate Diploma (CGPA of 3.50) may be considered.

3. Academic Master’s Programmes

Applicants must have:

• O’Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree: A relevant First Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for Science, Computing, & Engineering; Second Class (Lower Division) for other disciplines.
• PGD: A Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 may also be considered.

4. MPhil/PhD Programmes

Requirements include:

• O’Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree: A Second Class (Lower Division) or higher.
• Master’s Degree: An Academic Master’s Degree with a CGPA below PhD requirements.

5. Doctorate Degree (PhD) Programmes

Applicants must possess:

• O’Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in a maximum of two sittings.
• First Degree: A Second Class (Lower Division) or higher.
• Master’s Degree: An Academic Master’s Degree with a CGPA of 4.00 (Sciences) or 3.50 (other fields).
• Research Proposal: A research proposal of 1000 to 1500 words must be uploaded during the application process.

Application Process

1. Visit the KASU Application Portal: Go to the official KASU Application Portal to begin the process.
2. Processing Fee:
   • Nigerians: ₦10,000
   • Non-Nigerians: $20
3. Create a Profile: Register on the portal, and you will receive a username and password via email.
4. Complete the Application Form: Fill out the form online with accurate details.
5. Provide Transcripts: After admission is offered, submit academic transcripts and original credentials for verification at the point of registration.
