This organization was founded in 1948 as a training division of the Federal Office of Statistics with the goal of offering refresher courses. By 1961, it had grown into a comprehensive training facility that served other ministries and states. It changed into a full-fledged school by 1971, providing a two-year curriculum that resulted in a diploma in middle-level statistical officer training. The university added new programs in response to shifting demands and needs in education. It started providing courses in computer science, business administration, and management during the 2013–2014 school year.

A National Diploma program was then introduced by the Department of Accountancy for the 2018–19 academic year. The school currently offers programs leading to National Diplomas (ND) and Higher National Diplomas (HND) in Business Administration and Management, Computer Science, and Statistics.
