The Akwa Ibom State University is a traditional university that operates several campuses. Ikot Akpaden, in the Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, is the location of the main campus. It is close to the junction of the Ikot Abasi highway and the Eket-Ikot Akpaden-Eastern Obolo route. The next campus is situated along Abak-Ikot Okoro Road in Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
