Ahmadu Bello University is one of the leading universities in Nigeria. It is popularly called ABU. ABU is known for it’s wide variety of students of different backgrounds. It was founded in 1962. It is a federal university located in Zaria, Kaduna State; its main campus is in Samaru. As a university, it is focused on establishing a dynamic community comprised of talented and innovative individuals from various corners of the globe. Students of ABU are called ABUsites, and they are tagged “Naturally ahead.”.

ABU occupies a particularly important place among Nigerian universities. As it approaches its half-century anniversary, ABU can claim to be the largest and most extensive of universities in Sub-Saharan Africa. It covers a land area of 7,000 hectares (27 sq mi).
