The Portland Sea Dogs, a celebrated Eastern League baseball team, came into existence in 1992. 1994–2002

In the initial stages, the branding process explored various ideas, including a puffin mascot. However, the puffin was deemed unsuitable as a fierce or competitive symbol. 2003–Present

The current Portland Sea Dogs logo prominently features a grey seal leaping through a bold, red letter “P.” The seal clenches a yellow baseball bat in its mouth, symbolizing the team’s determination and energy. Above the seal, the team name appears in a unique typeface, with the ends of the letters "S" and "G" designed to resemble a seal's tail, adding a playful yet thematic touch.
