The Mahoning Valley Scrappers, a vibrant and relatively young baseball team based in Niles, Ohio, made their debut in professional baseball in 1999. Initially part of the New York–Penn League, they served as the Short-Season A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians until 2020. Since 2021, the Scrappers have transitioned to the MLB Draft League, where they now compete as an unaffiliated collegiate summer baseball team.
