New Hall International School, Lekki, Lagos, has clinched victory at the 2024 Lagos ODG Football Tournament, which concluded over the weekend at White Sand, Lekki. The team delivered a series of stellar performances, finishing the competition unbeaten and showcasing their exceptional talent and teamwork.

Dominating the Competition

Under the leadership of coach Henry Iwuanyanwu, New Hall’s team dominated the tournament, which was organized by ODG Sports Entertainment Ltd., a company dedicated to promoting sports among Nigerian youths. The school’s team exhibited a mix of skill, discipline, and determination, securing several notable victories, including:

4-0 win against Atlantic Hall
3-0 victory over Kings College
8-2 demolition of Attwool School
5-3 triumph against Dowen College
A 1-1 draw with hosts White Sand School

Their undefeated run earned them the top spot in the competition, cementing their status as one of Lagos’ premier football teams at the school level.

Star Players and Awards

Among the standout performers was Kamal Elegushi, who took home multiple accolades, including Best Player, Highest Scorer, and Best Goal Assist alongside Pere Nicholas. Kamal’s consistent performances were key to New Hall’s success, driving the team forward with crucial goals and assists throughout the tournament.

Chisomaga Ogbonna was recognized for his exceptional discipline on the field, receiving the Most Disciplined Player award, while White Sand School’s goalkeeper was honored as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
