The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across different fields of study. From sciences to arts, management to education, the institution provides quality education for students at different levels.

If you’re planning to study at UNIABUJA, you can gain admission through two major entry routes: UTME or Direct Entry (DE). Whichever path you choose, you must meet all the admission requirements before you can be considered.

This guide breaks down the undergraduate admission requirements for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates, alongside a full list of courses offered by the University of Abuja.

UNIABUJA Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates

To gain admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Obtain at least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
  • Score a minimum of 180 in the UTME (note that competitive courses may require higher scores).
  • Use the correct UTME subject combination for the chosen course, as mistakes here can disqualify you.
  • Choose UNIABUJA as your first choice of institution during JAMB registration. If not, apply for a change of institution.
  • Participate in the Post-UTME screening exercise and meet the departmental cut-off mark for your selected course.
