History of Olabisi Onabanjo University
Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), located in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria, is a state-owned institution that was established on July 7, 1982, originally named Ogun State University (OSU). On May 29, 2001, the university was renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University in honor of Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, the former civilian governor of Ogun State, who played a key role in its establishment. Many students still refer to the university by its original name, OSU.
