Fountain Institution (FUO), a private school in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria, was established to provide education based on Islamic beliefs.

The founders of Fountain University, Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society (NASFAT), originally intended for their organization to be a forum for Muslim intellectuals to engage in intellectual discourse and exchange ideas with Islamic scholars, while also expanding their understanding of Islamic beliefs and customs.

The educational philosophy and plan that the Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society (NASFAT) outlined during its strategic retreat held in Akodo, Lagos, in 2000 served as the impetus for the society’s ambition to create a university. Beginning with these modest beginnings, the Society initiated a methodical procedure that resulted in the academic summit of thirty Distinguished Academic Personalities, from which an eighteen-member University Planning Committee was formed in January 2004.

Fountain University was granted a private university license in 2007 by the Federal Government. A Strategic Implementation Committee was established to establish necessary facilities. The committee was dissolved in 2007 and reconstituted in 2011, following the first governing council’s four-year term.

Nine residence halls, including well-liked choices like Ishaq Oloyede Hostel, Yusuf Ali Hostel, Jubrila Ayinla Hall, Adegunwa Hostel, and Nimbe Adedipe Hostel, are available at Fountain University, housing 90% of full-time students.

The institution provides guest housing for researchers and visitors on campus, in addition to sporting facilities for faculty, staff, and students.

The university has five colleges, 28 academic departments, and a School of Postgraduate Studies. The colleges include the Arts, Natural and Applied Sciences, Basic Medical Health Sciences, Management and Social Sciences, and Law.
