Archeology is the study ofpast and present human activity through the recovery and analysis of material remains (fossils). Archaeological records may consist of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, sites, and cultural landscapes. Archaeology can be considered both a social science and a branch of the humanities.
Archeology focuses on understanding and interpreting human history by analyzing leftover ancient artifacts, structures and other fossil materials.
In Nigeria, Archeology spans through a period of four years, then you’re given Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Archeology). Some schools may award a Bachelor of Science.

Universities with a reputation for their Archeology programme include UNN, ABU Zaria, University of Ibadan, Unijos and Unical (University of Calabar).
