The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially released the Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2025/2026 academic session. If you’re aiming for a PGD, Master’s, M.Phil., or Ph.D. at FUTA, this is your signal. Sales of forms begin Monday, 16th June 2025.

Here’s everything you need to know — fees, eligibility, application steps, and deadlines. No fluff. Just facts.

Application Fee (Non-refundable)

Payment is strictly through Remita. Don’t pay into personal accounts. No refund if you mess this up.

Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the program-specific requirements below. If you don’t, don’t bother applying.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• Degree holders: Must have a B.Sc./B.Tech or equivalent in a relevant field.
• HND holders: At least Lower Credit in a relevant discipline.
• For PGD Computer Science: ACA, AIB, ACCA, ACIS, or similar professional qualifications are also accepted.

Master’s (M.Tech, M.Eng, M.Agric.Tech)

• Bachelor’s degree from FUTA or any recognized university with minimum Second Class Lower in relevant field.
• If HND holder: must also hold PGD with Upper Credit minimum.

M.Phil.

• M.Tech or equivalent in a related discipline with strong academic performance.

Ph.D.

• Relevant Master’s degree with CGPA of 3.50 or 60% average score.
• Other qualifications must be vetted and approved by FUTA Senate.

How to Apply for FUTA Postgraduate Form 2025/2026

Step-by-step Instructions:

1. Visit the FUTA PG portal: https://www.futa.edu.ng
2. On the homepage, click “Application Payment”.
3. Fill in the required fields to generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
4. Make payment:
   • Online: Visit www.remita.net, select Bills & Purchases, then Pay RRR Invoice. Input your RRR and pay using ATM-enabled card.
   • Bank: Take the RRR to any commercial bank and pay over the counter.
5. Return to the portal, click “Payment Verification”, and verify your payment.
6. Create your account and log in to access the application form.
7. Fill the form and upload:
   • Notification of Result or Degree Certificate
   • Academic transcripts (if available)
   • Passport photograph
8. Review your details and submit by clicking “Close Application”.

Deadline

Applications close exactly six weeks from the start date. That puts the deadline at Friday, 25th July 2025, barring any extension.

Late applications? Not entertained.

Final Notes

• No need to rush, but don’t wait till the last minute.
• Ensure every detail you submit is correct—no edits after submission.
• Transcripts should be sent directly from your previous institution to The Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, FUTA.
